Cheltenham Festival, being a top horse racing event, attracts some of the best jockeys from all over the world. Here are some of the best jockeys who graced the Cheltenham Festival racecourse.

Lester Piggott

He is considered a legend and the greatest flat jockey. He enjoyed a great 42-year long career in which he won several championship races. He rode in the festival over 4,000 times. Some of his great achievements include being Flat Jockey champion for 11 times, 8-times St Ledger winner, 6-times winner of the Oaks, 2-times winner of the 1,000 Guineas and 5-times winner of the 2,000 Guineas. He is going to have nine statues placed in different racecourses to honour him.

Frankie Dettori

He is a fan favourite in the horse racing competition. He has a record where he was able to ride seven winners at Royal Ascot. He has become a Champion Jockey for three times throughout his career. The Italian still rides in great competitions even though he’s nearly 50 years old.

Ryan Moore

He has also become a Champion Jockey three different times. He has some of the best records in Brutish Classics as he always attains multiple wins in the tournaments. He has also been crowned champion of the Japan Cup, Melbourne Cup, Prix del I’Arc de Triomphe and the Breeders’ Cup Turf. He receives great love from punters as he always makes a win in multiple races in every tournament he makes an appearance, including Cheltenham Festival.

He is one of the greatest jockeys ever to grace the Cheltenham Festival events. Fans mostly cherish his great rivalry with Dettori on the racecourse. He had his greatest racing period between 1997 and 2004. This is when he was dominant on the Cheltenham racecourse and he won a lot of trophies.
